Paleo Pyramid vs. Food Guide Pyramid (US)








Compared to the American Food pyramid, here is the paleo one.

The paleo pyramid: 

In Paleo, what to eat: Meat, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds.

Calorific ratios:

Protien: Beef, lamb, pork, fish, chicken, eggs, milk, nuts, seeds
Fruits: Banana, apple, pear, watermelon, kiwi fruit, strawberry, cherrie,
Vegetables: Kale, Spinach, Bok Choy, Lettuce, Capsicum (Pepper), Carrots, Califlower, Tomato
Fats and Oils: Butter, cream, milk, olive oil, nuts, seeds

Seeing as protein and fat is very calorie dense and nutrient dense. Plant based food such as vegetables is nutrient dense, but calorie light. Fruit is a bit more calorie dense, but super sweet fruit in large amounts should be avoided.

60% calories from animal products: meat (with fat), milk, butter, eggs

30% calories from plant products: fruit, vegetables, nuts,
